Privacy Policy: Lens by MyReputation
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Lens by MyReputation ("Lens") is a Chrome extension made by MyReputation (myreputation.app). This policy explains what Lens does with information.
What Lens reads
When you use Google Maps or Google Search, Lens reads the public business listing information Google shows on the page, such as business names, categories, IDs, ratings and reviews. It uses this only to show you categories, IDs and audits.
When you use the Rank grid or Competitors tools, Lens sends search requests to Google Maps from your browser, the same way Google Maps does when you search.
When you run a website audit, Lens loads that website's home page, only after you give Chrome permission for that site.
What Lens stores
Lens stores the following on your own device only, using Chrome's extension storage:
- your email address and beta licence key
- the listing you last opened, so the side panel can use it
- search settings the Rank grid and Competitors tools reuse
- any AI API keys you add (OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter), and your chosen models
- the listings you choose to monitor, with their last review count and rating
AI writing tools
If you add your own AI API key, the text you ask Lens to write, and the AI visibility questions it asks (such as "best web design in Sligo"), are answered by that provider. Lens sends your request, and the listing's name, categories, address and website, directly from your browser to the provider you chose (OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter), under that provider's own terms and privacy policy. Your API key is sent only to that provider, never to MyReputation.
What Lens sends to us
Only your licence key. About twice a day, Lens sends it to myreputation.app to check that it is still valid, and to collect a renewed key if we've issued one. We record the time of the last check so we can see which licences are in use.
If you choose to save a report, Lens sends that report (the listing's public details, audit results or rank grid) to your myreputation.app account. If you monitor a listing, Lens sends the listing's name, place ID and review change to myreputation.app when a change is found, so we can show and email you the alert.
Lens does not send your browsing activity or the pages you visit to MyReputation or anyone else.
If you create an account on myreputation.app, we store your name, email address, a securely hashed password, anything you write in your access request, the reports you save, and your review alerts. You can delete saved reports from your Reports page.
Install and uninstall
When you install Lens, it opens a welcome page on myreputation.app. When you uninstall it, Chrome opens a short feedback page. Anything you choose to write there (a reason, a note and, if you want a reply, your email) is stored so we can improve Lens. Lens sends nothing else when it is installed or removed.
Sharing
We do not sell, rent or share your information. We do not use it for advertising or for anything unrelated to Lens.
Removing your data
Uninstalling Lens deletes everything it stored. You can also sign out from the side panel to remove your licence.
Changes
If Lens starts collecting new information, we will update this policy before that change goes live.
